Jeff Crane, President  is a Denver native and grew up skiing in Colorado. He is a Level 3, PSIA-certified Telemark Ski Instructor, and has been the Snowsports School Director at Plattekill Mountain in the Catskills of New York for 5 years and also instructs Alpine and Telemark skiing at Vail.  He does backcountry skiing in Colorado and in the Northeast and is an avid supporter of freeheel skiing and backcountry touring. He has an MFA in Visual Art and has taught Art and Art History for the past 16 years. He is also a musician and builds custom open-back banjos (Crane Banjos). 

Kate McCoy, Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer has a PhD in Education and is an educator and student of sustainable agriculture, energy, and waste systems. She was Education Director at Brook Farm Project in New York for six years. She has been an education committee member at the Mohonk Preserve for seven years. She is a professor of Educational Foundations, Environmental Studies, and Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. Kate is also a musician, performing with her partner Jeff. Kate grew up riding and training horses and has worked as a wrangler and tour guide at a New York resort. She has past experience as a server, bartender, and bar manager in a variety of restaurants and upscale private clubs. Kate does yoga and is an enthusiastic beginning freeheel and backcountry skier and an avid hiker.
